Boulder Rocks on Family Farm
Photos taken on Good Friday, April 13th

Some photos taken of my nieces this past Easter weekend.

Wednesday, 4 April 2012

I took this picture, maybe a month ago. I was driving around Lethbridge and for some reason, these cranes called out to me and so I turned my car around and took this picture. I guess there is something interesting about the industrial background setting and the way these mechanical mobile machines stand up against the sky.

House No. 2

Front Face 1
Front Face 2

This house shares several similarities with House No. 1 in its exterior design aspects, notably the staggering, fragmented cube-like effect in construction. The entrance is clearly defined by the coloured red brick and brown wooden door. Both homes have a roof balcony, which is a rare feature to see in most house designs.

The architectural exterior features of homes are intriguing to me. In a sense, they tell a story about the people who occupy and live in them. This particular home, east of downtown Lethbridge is my favorite house. It is attractive in its classic, modern design of simple geometric squares, line formations and materiality. I try to imagine how the space is organized within the home based on the windows and their locations. I imagine that it is spacious inside and offers an interesting layout. A beautiful house indeed.

Intriguing black and white art photography by Isa Leshko. Her interest in fair rides and gravity make for an interesting subject matter in creating art photography that is more than just photography. Leshko's artist statement explains her approach and process to photography and is worth checking out by following the link below.
